Perfect for nannies, babysitters, and parents, this one-day Emergency Paediatric First Aid course in Leeds covers CPR, choking response, and injury care. Gain hands-on training and the confidence to manage child emergencies effectively.
Our one-day Emergency Paediatric First Aid course gives you the skills and confidence to deal with an emergency involving a baby or child — calmly and effectively. Accredited by the First Aid Industry Body (FAIB), it's ideal for nannies, babysitters, after-school and activity staff, and parents who want practical, hands-on training in a single day. Train at our Leeds centre, or we'll come to your setting.
This one-day course suits people caring for children in lower-ratio or non-EYFS settings, and anyone who simply wants emergency paediatric skills. If you work in an Ofsted-registered early years setting and need to be counted in EYFS staff ratios, you'll need the full 2-day Level 3 Paediatric First Aid course instead. Not sure which applies to you? Call us and we'll point you the right way.
Nannies and babysitters, childminding assistants, after-school and holiday-club staff, sports and activity coaches, foster carers, grandparents and parents — anyone who looks after children and wants to be ready for an emergency. No experience needed.
A single, practical, hands-on day in a relaxed and supportive setting. Using infant and child manikins, you'll practise CPR, choking response and casualty care through realistic scenarios, with plenty of time to ask questions. It's beginner-friendly and confidence-building — you'll leave knowing you could act in a real emergency.
Respond calmly to a child or baby in difficulty; perform infant and child CPR and use a defibrillator; deal with choking; manage bleeding, burns and minor injuries; and recognise and respond to febrile convulsions and allergic reactions.
Practical, continuous assessment by your trainer — no written exam. You'll receive the FAIB-accredited Emergency Paediatric First Aid certificate, valid for three years.
We deliver this on site across Leeds and West Yorkshire for groups (up to 12) — handy for activity clubs, sports organisations and childcare teams. Call for a group quote.

Our first aid courses are accredited by the First Aid Industry Body (FAIB), whose qualifications meet HSE requirements. Our Level 3 Paediatric First Aid and Mental Health First Aid qualifications are awarded by Qualsafe Awards (Ofqual-regulated), and our CPR & Defibrillator (AED) training is certificated by Skills Training Group. Like the British Red Cross and St John Ambulance, our training meets the standards set by the HSE, Ofsted, the EYFS and the Department for Education.
Your training is led by Martin Sanders — a serving Leeds firefighter and qualified Casualty Care Instructor who brings real front-line emergency experience to every session. Alongside his FAA Level 3 Award in First Aid at Work, Martin holds recognised teaching and assessing qualifications, so you learn life-saving skills from someone who both uses them in the field and knows how to teach them. All first aid certificates are valid for three years.
