One-Day Emergency First Aid at Work Course in Leeds: Gain the FAIB-accredited EFAW qualification with expert-led training. Perfect for workplaces, it equips you with essential skills to handle emergencies confidently.
Our one-day Emergency First Aid at Work (EFAW) course gives lower-risk workplaces a fully qualified emergency first aider in a single day — the right level of cover for offices, shops, gyms, salons and similar settings. Accredited by the First Aid Industry Body (FAIB) and meeting HSE requirements, it's practical, hands-on and beginner-friendly. Train at our Leeds centre from £95 per person, or we'll deliver it on site to your whole team.
Under the Health and Safety (First Aid) Regulations 1981, your First Aid Needs Assessment decides the level of cover you need. Lower-risk workplaces — offices, shops, gyms, salons, small premises — typically need first aiders qualified to Emergency First Aid at Work level. Higher-risk environments usually need the three-day First Aid at Work course. Not sure where you sit? Call us and we'll help you decide — we won't push you toward a longer course than you need.
Appointed workplace first aiders in lower-risk settings, small-business owners and managers, office and retail staff, gym and salon staff, and anyone needing a recognised emergency first aid qualification in a single day. No prior experience required.
In one day you'll cover:
It's a single, practical day — relaxed, hands-on and beginner-friendly. You'll spend most of the time practising rather than listening: CPR on manikins, the recovery position, bandaging and casualty assessment, working through realistic scenarios with your trainer. Tea and coffee are provided and there's plenty of time to ask questions. You'll leave qualified and, more importantly, genuinely confident to act in an emergency.
Manage an incident calmly and safely; assess a casualty; perform CPR and use a defibrillator; place an unresponsive casualty in the recovery position; treat choking, bleeding, shock and seizures; and deal with common minor injuries.
Assessment is practical and continuous throughout the day, with no formal written exam — your trainer guides you and almost everyone passes. You'll receive the FAIB-accredited Emergency First Aid at Work certificate, valid for three years, after which you retake the one-day course to requalify.
We deliver EFAW on site at your premises for up to 12 people across Leeds and West Yorkshire — a fast, cost-effective way to get a whole team qualified in a single day with no travel. Call for a group quote.
We've been getting Leeds workplaces emergency-ready since 2018 — over 5,000 people trained and counting.
Our first aid courses are accredited by the First Aid Industry Body (FAIB), whose qualifications meet HSE requirements. Our Level 3 Paediatric First Aid and Mental Health First Aid qualifications are awarded by Qualsafe Awards (Ofqual-regulated), and our CPR & Defibrillator (AED) training is certificated by Skills Training Group. Like the British Red Cross and St John Ambulance, our training meets the standards set by the HSE, Ofsted, the EYFS and the Department for Education.
Your training is led by Martin Sanders — a serving Leeds firefighter and qualified Casualty Care Instructor who brings real front-line emergency experience to every session. Alongside his FAA Level 3 Award in First Aid at Work, Martin holds recognised teaching and assessing qualifications, so you learn life-saving skills from someone who both uses them in the field and knows how to teach them. All first aid certificates are valid for three years.
